What do Sage Chedder Cheese, Wine and Bacon have to do with each other ?
Not much would be the normal answer , well as it turns out .. quite a lot.. In Petaluma just an hour North of San Francisco are a few hidden Wineries that produce very small amounts of wine, and that are truly amazing, open to the public, by reservation only totally free..in so may ways.. .. snob factor zero, kindness factor 100…Azori Winery is a private small winery owned and run by the Azori family in Petaluma the grapes are grown on their property, and the Wine is well balanced and Delicious …gorgeous rolling hills, calming atmosphere, a totally private experience we drove up to the gate, and rang the bell we were buzzed in and we parked. We sat outside under the umbrellas, sipped wine and ate pizza that they made for us in an out door oven, a wonderful mix of a homey cozy feeling,in a beautiful location, Its a very small winery they do under 2,000 cases. Its located an hour outside of San Francisco!…After our three hour wine tasting and pizza we head over to Terra Firma Farms, for a farm dinner that is given only four times a year. Terra Firma Farm is a working farm that is a CSA ( membership distribution) their focus is in allowing the grass to be eaten but only down to a point, so that the soil can heal, the grass can grown and the pigs, cow, and chickens feeding on the grass are eating the best grass possible, so that when we consume them, we are eating organic, healthy animals. This type of farming is excellent for the environment, and great for the animals, this type of farming heals the earth.
