Remember your first time to Disneyland? You enter Disneyland USA via Main Street, the flowers are lovely, the street is brick, the lamp-post are old-fashioned, the streets looks pristine, the people working on Main Street are friendly, polite, well-mannered, well dressed and nice. The only thing is that, this is Disneyland so it’s not real life.
Jack London Square is a lot like Disneyland only everything is real. It is pristine, warm, friendly, well planted and well maintained. The eight long blocks next to the water are super charming, and for pedestrians only, no cars. People walking, strollers, bikes and kids dominate the road. Sunday is Farmers Market Day, and the water way is calmly buzzing with a variety of vegetables, fruit, jam, bread, honey, and food that is sold to be eaten right away. Kyack’s can be rented,and Kyack Lesson’s are also available.
Restaurants are located all around Jack London Square, as well as Movies, Art Galleries, Local Coffee Rosters, Local Brewery, Local Bakeries.
Old warehouse building have been renovated and transformed into living lofts. New construction has popped up over the last ten years, and Yoshi the famous Jazz Club was one of the first Jack London Square Pioneers!
Jack London’s log cabin is located in the middle of Jack London Square, It’s a replica , but a lovely tribute to a down to earth yet pristine Square.
